The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions in exercise of the powers conferred by section 84(1)(a) and (2) of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: 1.This Order may be cited as the A40 Trunk Road (Western Avenue, Ealing) (Speed Limits) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 16th February 1998. 2.In this Order:-;
3.No person shall drive a motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this Order. 1.That length of Western Avenue from the eastern kerbline of its junction with Old Oak Common Lane and Old Oak Road to a point 369 metres east of the centre line of the Argyle Road bridge a distance of approximately 5.5 kilometres. 2.That length of the westbound exit slip road from its junction with Western Avenue to a point 50 metres east of the eastern kerbline of the Argyle Road bridge, a distance of approximately 565 metres. 3.That length of the eastbound access slip road from a point 10 metres east of the eastern kerbline of Bideford Avenue to its junction with Western Avenue, a distance of approximately 195 metres. 1.That length of Western Avenue from a point 369 metres east of the centre line of the Argyle Road bridge to a point 64 metres west of the centre line of the Islip Manor footbridge, a distance of approximately 4.8 kilometres. 2.That length of the westbound access slip road between a point 10 metres west of its junction with the western kerbline of the Argyle Road bridge and its junction with Western Avenue, a distance of approximately 410 metres. 3.That length of the eastbound exit slip road from its junction with Western Avenue to a point 50 metres west of its junction with the western kerbline of the Argyle Road bridge, a distance of approximately 360 metres.
