ROAD TRAFFIC

The Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames) (Amendment) Order 1998

Whereas the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames has applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under section 76 of the Road Traffic Act 1991[1] and the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with section 76(2) of that Act:

    NOW, the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 76(1) and section 77(6) of Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: - 

Citation and commencement
    1.This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames) (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into force on 16th March 1998.

Amendment of the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames) Order 1996
    2. - (1) Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames) Order 1996[2] shall be amended as follows.

    (2) At the end of paragraph 21(b)(iii) there shall be inserted the following paragraph - 

    " ;

(iv) (service road fronting 250 to 264 Malden Way) between a point opposite the common boundary between 260 and 262 Malden Way to the eastern end of the service road at its junction with South Lane".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends Schedule 2 to the Road Traffic (Special Parking Area) (Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames) Order 1996. It adds a short length of the service road to the A3 fronting 250 to 264 Malden Way to the list of roads excluded from the special parking area designated by that Order.
