The Police Act 1997 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1997

In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 135(1) of the Police Act 1997[1], the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:

1.This Order may be cited as the Police Act 1997 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1997.

2.Section 101 (code of practice in connection with authorisation of action in respect of property) of the Police Act 1997 shall come into force on 5th August 1997.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings section 101 of the Police Act 1997 into force on 5th August 1997. Section 101 requires the Secretary of State to issue a code of practice in connection with the performance of functions under Part III of the 1997 Act by persons other than Commissioners appointed under section 91.
