The Traffic Director for London, in accordance with a direction given to him by the Secretary of State for Transport under section 58(1) of the Road Traffic Act 1991[1] and in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984[2], and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order: - Citation and commencement 1.This Order may be cited as The A312 Trunk Road (The Parkway, Hounslow) Red Route (Prescribed Route) Traffic Order 1997, and shall come into force on 24th June 1997. Interpretation 2.In this Order -
(b) a reference to an article followed by a number is a reference to the article of this Order so numbered; (c) "the trunk road" means the length of the A312 Trunk Road in the London Borough of Hounslow, known as The Parkway; (d) "the traffic island" means the triangular island site situated adjacent to the junction of the southbound carriageway of the trunk road and the north-eastern arm of Cranford High Street. Prescribed Routes and Prohibitive Turns
(b) any person causing a vehicle to proceed southward in the trunk road on the south-west side of the traffic island, shall not cause that vehicle to continue in any direction other than ahead. Exemptions
