The Prosecution of Offences (Revocation) Regulations 1997

The Attorney General, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 7 and 8 of the Prosecution of Offences Act 1985[1], hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement
    1.These Regulations may be cited as the Prosecution of Offences (Revocation) Regulations 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1997.

Revocation of 1978 Regulations
    2.The Prosecution of Offences Regulations 1978[2] are hereby revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations revoke the Prosecution of Offences Regulations 1978, which made provision with respect to certain functions of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the furnishing to him by chief officers of the police, magistrates and clerks of magistrates' courts of information about criminal offences and proceedings.
