The Health and Safety (Repeals and Revocations) Regulations 1996

Coming into force1st January 1997

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection (1) of section 37 of the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having consulted the Health and Safety Commission ("the Commission") in accordance with subsection (2) of that section, and having in accordance with subsection (3) of that section required the Commission to consult such persons as it considered appropriate for the purpose of deciding how it should respond to the consultation by the Secretary of State, and a draft of the following Regulations having been laid before Parliament in accordance with subsection (7) of that section and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament, hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Health and Safety (Repeals and Revocations) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 1st January 1997.
    Repeals and revocations
        2.—(1)  The enactments specified in column 2 of Part I of the Schedule are repealed to the extent specified in column 3 of that Part.

        (2)  The instruments specified in column 1 of Part II of the Schedule are revoked.
