The Food Safety (Fishery Products and Live Bivalve Molluscs and Other Shellfish) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 1996

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretaries of State respectively concerned with health in England and food and health in Wales, acting jointly in relation to England and Wales, and the Secretary of State for Scotland in relation to Scotland, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 6(4), 16(1), 17(1), 18(1)(c), 26(3), 48(1) and 49(2) of the Food Safety Act 1990[1], and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State acting jointly, being Ministers designated[2] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[3] in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, in the exercise of the powers conferred on them by the said section 2(2), and in each case in exercise of all other powers respectively enabling them in that behalf, after consultation (so far as is required by section 48(4) of the Food Safety Act 1990) with such organisations as appear to them to be representative of interests likely to be substantially affected, hereby make the following Regulations: Citation and commencement 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Food Safety (Fishery Products and Live Bivalve Molluscs and Other Shellfish) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 8th July 1996. Amendment of the Food Safety (Fishery Products) Regulations 1992 2. The Food Safety (Fishery Products) Regulations 1992[4] shall be amended as specified in Schedule 1 to these Regulations. Amendment of the Food Safety (Fishery Products on Fishing Vessels) Regulations 1992 3. In paragraph (1) of regulation 2 of the Food Safety (Fishery Products on Fishing Vessels) Regulations 1992[5] (interpretation) for the definition of "fishery products" there shall be substituted the following definition ""fishery products" has the same meaning as in the Food Safety (Fishery Products) Regulations 1992;".
Amendment of the Food Safety (Live Bivalve Molluscs and Other Shellfish) (Import Conditions and Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 1994 4. The Food Safety (Live Bivalve Molluscs and Other Shellfish) (Import Conditions and Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 1994[6] shall be amended as specified in Schedule 2 to these Regulations. Amendment of the Food Safety (Fishery Products) (Import Conditions and Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 1994 5. The Food Safety (Fishery Products) (Import Conditions and Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 1994[7] shall be amended as specified in Schedule 3 to these Regulations. Revocations 6. The Regulations specified in column (l) of Schedule 4 to these Regulations are hereby revoked to the extent specified in column (3) of that Schedule.
