The Jobseekers Act 1995 (Commencement No.2) Order 1996

Made	18th April 1996

The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 41(2) and (3) of the Jobseekers Act 1995^[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
    1.    This Order may be cited as the Jobseekers Act 1995 (Commencement No.2) Order 1996.

Appointed Day
    2.    22nd April 1996 is the day appointed for the coming into force of—
 (a) paragraphs 38, 39, 40, 44, 45, 47, 52, 67, 68, 69, 70, 73, 75 and 76 of Schedule 2 to the Jobseekers Act 1995 (which contain amendments to the Administration Act and the Local Government Finance Act 1992^[2]); and
 (b) section 41(4) of that Act in so far as it relates to those paragraphs.

Amendment of Commencement Order No.1
    3.    In article 2(g) of the Jobseekers Act 1995 (Commencement No.1) Order 1995^[3], for the words "section 41(5)" there shall be substituted the words "section 41(4)".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This, the second Order commencing provisions of the Jobseekers Act 1995 (c. 18), provides for the coming into force on 22nd April 1996 of certain provisions in Schedule 2 which introduce into the Social Security Administration Act 1992 (c. 5) and the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (c. 14) references to the Jobseekers Act 1995.
