The Local Government Finance Act 1992 (Commencement No.10) Order 1996

Made	20th March 1996

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 119(2) of the Local Government Finance Act 1992^[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and interpretation
    1.—(1)  This Order may be cited as the Local Government Finance Act 1992 (Commencement No.10) Order 1996.

    (2)  In this Order, "the Act" means the Local Government Finance Act 1992.

Commencement of provisions
    2.    The following provisions of the Act shall come into force on 1st April 1996:—
 (a) paragraph 39 of Schedule 13; and
 (b) in Schedule 14, the repeals of—
 (i) section 111(1)(a), (b) and (d) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973^[2]; and
 (ii) section 9(6) of the Water (Scotland) Act 1980^[3].

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 1st April 1996 the following provisions of the Local Government Finance Act 1992:—
(c) the repeal in Schedules 13 and 14 of section 111(1)(a), (b) and (d) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 (regulation-making powers with respect to rates); and

(d) the repeal in Schedule 14 of section 9(6) of the Water (Scotland) Act 1980 (recovery of charges for non-domestic supply of water).
