The Scottish Examination Board (Amendment) Regulations 1996

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred in him by section 129 of the Education (Scotland) Act 1980[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Scottish Examination Board (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 1st April 1996.
    Amendment of the Scottish Examination Board Regulations 1981
        2.    Paragraph (2) of regulation 6 (membership) of the Scottish Examination Board Regulations 1981[2] shall be amended by substituting for the words "Directors of education" the words "Persons employed by education authorities in an administrative capacity as respects the discharge of their education function".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations made a consequential amendment to the Scottish Examination Board Regulations 1981 in light of the abolition, by the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994, of the statutory post of director of education with effect from 1st April 1996.
