The Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (Modification) Order 1995

The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament on the recommendation of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs and has been approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:
    Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 2(2) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (Modification) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st September 1995.
        2.    Schedule 2 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971[2] (which specifies the drugs which are subject to control under that Act) shall be amended by the omission, from paragraph 1 of Part III of that Schedule, of the word "Propylhexedrine".
        3.    Article 2(3)(d) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (Modification) Order 1986[3] shall be amended by the substitution, for the words

        "the words "Propylhexedrine" and "Pyrovalerone"".
    , of the words

        "the word "Pyrovalerone"".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order removes from Part III of Schedule 2 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 (which specifies the Class C drugs which are subject to control under that Act) Propylhexedrine.
