The Registration of Births and Deaths (Welsh Language) (Amendment) Regulations 1995

The Registrar General in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5, 9(5), 10(1), 10A(1), 11(1)(b) and 39 of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953^[1] as extended by section 26(3) of the Welsh Language Act 1993^[2] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, with the approval^[3] of the Secretary of State for Wales^[4], hereby makes the following Regulations—

Citation, commencement and interpretation
    1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Welsh Language) (Amendment) Regulations 1995 and shall come into force on 1st April 1995.

    (2)  In these Regulations "the principal Regulations" means the Registration of Births and Deaths (Welsh Language) Regulations 1987^[5].

Substitution of forms 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 9 in Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations
    2.    For forms 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 9 in Schedule 2 to the principal Regulations (prescribed forms)^[6] there shall be substituted respectively the forms 1, 2, 5, 6, 7 and 9 in the Schedule to these Regulations.

Revocation of regulation 9 of the principal Regulations
    3.    Regulation 9 of the principal Regulations (discrepancies) is hereby revoked.
