Teaching as a Career Unit (Transfer of Property, Rights and Liabilities) Order 1994

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 17 and 23(2) of the Education Act 1994[1] the Secretary of State for Education hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Teaching as a Career Unit (Transfer of Property, Rights and Liabilities) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 13th October 1994.
Transfer of property etc. to the Teacher Training Agency
2.(1) All property, rights and liabilities (including rights and liabilities arising under contracts of employment) of the Teaching as a Career Unit[2] ("TASC") shall on 13th October 1994 be transferred to and vest in the Teacher Training Agency.
(2) Any contract of employment between TASC and an employee shall have effect as from that date as if originally made between him and the Teacher Training Agency.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)This Order transfers all property, rights and liabilities of the Teaching as a Career Unit (TASC) to the Teacher Training Agency, which was established under section 1 of the Education Act 1994. The transfer includes TASC's rights and liabilities under contracts of employment and accordingly employees of TASC become employees of the TTA on 13th October 1994.
