The Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (London Boroughs of Camden, Hackney and Hounslow) (Amendment) Order 1994

    Whereas the councils of the London boroughs of Camden, Hackney and Hounslow have each applied to the Secretary of State for an order to be made under section 76 of the Road Traffic Act 1991[1] amending an order made by him under that section, and the Secretary of State has consulted the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis in accordance with section 76(2) of that Act:
    NOW, the Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 76(1) and section 77(6) of the Road Traffic Act 1991 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (London Boroughs of Camden, Hackney and Hounslow) (Amendment) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 17th June 1994.
    Interpretation
        2.    In this Order, unless the context otherwise requires,"the principal Order" means the Road Traffic (Special Parking Areas) (London Boroughs of Camden, Hackney and Hounslow) Order 1993[2];
      "the 1984 Act" and "the 1991 Act" have the same meanings as in the principal Order; and a reference to a Schedule followed by a number is a reference to the Schedule to this Order bearing that number. Amendment of the principal Order.

        3.—(1)  The principal Order shall have effect as if—
       (a) the areas referred to in Schedule 1 were included in the special parking area designated by article 3(1)(a) of the principal Order;
       (b) the areas referred to in Schedule 2 were included in the special parking area designated by article 3(1)(b) of the principal Order; and
       (c) the areas referred to in Schedule 3 were included in the special parking area designated by article 3(1)(c) of the principal Order.

        (2)  The following paragraph shall be added to Part II of Schedule 1 to the principal Order:—

        "So much of Regent's Park as lies within the London borough of Camden."


        (3)  Article 4 (modification of the 1984 Act) and article 5 (modification of the 1991 Act) of the principal Order shall apply in relation to the areas referred to in Schedules 1, 2 and 3 as they apply to the special parking areas designated by article 3 of that Order, so that references in article 4 or 5 to a special parking area shall be taken to include an area referred to in Schedule 1, 2 or 3 to this Order.
