NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE, ENGLAND AND WALES
The National Health Service (Regional Health Authorities) Order 1994

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of powers conferred on her by sections 8(1)(a) and (1A)(a) and 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
Citation, commencement and interpretation
1.(1) This Order may be cited as the National Health Service (Regional Health Authorities) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 1st April 1994.
(2) In this Order, "the Regions Order" means the National Health Service (Determination of Regions) Order 1994[2].
Abolition of Regional Health Authorities
2. The Regional Health Authorities specified in Schedule 1 to this Order are hereby abolished.
Continuation of Regional Health Authorities
3. Trent Regional Health Authority and West Midlands Regional Health Authority shall continue to be established in relation to Trent Region and West Midlands Region respectively, the determination of each of which is continued by the Regions Order.
Establishment and names of new Authorities
4. For each of the regions determined by the Regions Order and specified in column (1) of Schedule 2 to this Order there is established a Regional Health Authority which shall be known by the name specified in column (2) of that Schedule in relation to that region.
Revocation
5. The National Health Service (Constitution of Regional Health Authorities) Order 1975[3] is hereby revoked.
