The National Health Service (District Health Authorities) (No.2) Order 1993

The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of powers conferred on her by sections 8(1)(b) and (1A)(c) and 126(3) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the National Health Service (District Health Authorities) (No.2) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 1st October 1993. Abolition of Authorities 2. The District Health Authorities specified in Schedule 1 to this Order are hereby abolished. Establishment and names of new Authorities 3. For each of the districts determined by the National Health Service (Determination of Districts) (No.2) Order 1993[2] and specified in column (1) of Schedule 2 to this Order there is established a District Health Authority which shall be known by the name specified in column (2) of that Schedule in relation to that district. Amendment of the National Health Service (District Health Authorities) Order 1990 4. In consequence of articles 2 and 3 of this Order, Schedule 1 to the National Health Service (District Health Authorities) Order 1990[3] shall be amended (a) by the omission from Part 10 of the entries in columns (1) and (2) relating to East Berkshire District and West Berkshire District, and the insertion, immediately before the entries in that Part relating to Buckinghamshire District, of the following entries in columns (1) and (2) respectively:

(b) by the omission from Part 13 of the entries in columns (1) and (2) relating to Crewe District, Halton District, Macclesfield District, Southport and Formby District, South Sefton (Merseyside) District and Warrington District, and the insertion, immediately before the entries in that Part relating to St. Helens and Knowsley District, of the following entries in columns (1) and (2) respectively:
