The Financial Assistance for Environmental Purposes (No. 2) Order 1993

    The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 153(4) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Financial Assistance for Environmental Purposes (No. 2) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 15th July 1993.
    Variation of section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990
        2.    The following is hereby added to section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 after paragraph (u)[2]:
        "(v) the programme known as the Promotion of Positive Environmental Management in Industry Programme.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    This Order varies section 153(1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to enable financial assistance to be given, with the consent of the Treasury, for the purposes of a programme known as the Promotion of Positive Environmental Management in Industry Programme, which aims to help small and medium sized companies improve their environmental performance.
