The A43 Trunk Road (Silverstone Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1993

Coming into force11th May 1993

    The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and now vested in him[2], and of all other enabling powers:—
        1.    The lengths of the A43 Trunk Road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be trunk road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Northamptonshire that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.
        2.    In this Order:
       (a) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highways and are approximate only;
       (b) 
         (i) "the deposited plan" means the plan numbered HA10/EM81 marked "The A43 Trunk Road (Silverstone Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1993", signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
         (ii) "the new trunk roads" means the highways to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the A43 Trunk Road (Silverstone Bypass and Slip Roads) Order 1993;
         (iii) "the A43 Trunk Road" means the A43 Oxford—Northampton—Stamford—Market Deeping Trunk Road.
        3.    This Order shall come into force on 11th May 1993 and may be cited as theA43 Trunk Road (Silverstone Bypass) (Detrunking) Order 1993.
