LOCAL GOVERNMENT, SCOTLAND CHANGES IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS
The Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy Districts (Mossmorran) Boundaries Amendment Order 1993

Whereas under section 17(1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973[1] the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland on 15th November 1990 submitted to the Secretary of State a report on a review conducted under section 14(2) of that Act in which they made proposals for the transfer of certain areas between Dunfermline District and Kirkcaldy District, both in Fife Region, and in which they also made proposals for changes in electoral arrangements consequential on those changes in local government areas; Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 17(2) of the said Act, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order to give effect to the proposals of the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland as submitted to him: Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy Districts (Mossmorran) Boundaries Amendment Order 1993, and shall come into force on 1st April 1993. Interpretation 2. In this Order:"the 1977 Regulations" means the Local Government Area Changes (Scotland) Regulations 1977[2]; and
"boundary map" means the map prepared by The Scottish Office marked "The Dunferm line and Kirkcaldy Districts (Mossmorran) Boundaries Amendment Order 1993" and deposited in accordance with regulation 3 of the 1977 Regulations; and, in the Schedule to this Order, any reference to a district boundary is a reference to such a boundary as it exists immediately before the commencement of this Order. Application of the 1977 Regulations 3. Save insofar as they can have no application in relation to the area changes effected by this Order, the provisions of the 1977 Regulations shall apply in relation thereto for the purposes of, or in consequence of, this Order. Area changes 4.(1) That part of Dunfermline District in Fife Region, being the Area A described in Part I of the Schedule to this Order and shown delineated, hatched and marked area "A" on the boundary map, shall be transferred to Kirkcaldy District in Fife Region.
(2) That part of Kirkcaldy District in Fife Region, being the Area B described in Part II of the Schedule to this Order and shown delineated, hatched and marked area "B" on the boundary map, shall be transferred to Dunfermline District in Fife Region.
Consequential changes in electoral arrangements 5.(1) Area A described in Part I of the Schedule to this Order (being the Area A transferred by article 4(1) of this Order) (a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 33 (Lochgelly) of Fife Region[3] and ward 10 (Lochgelly South) of Dunfermline District[4]; and (b) shall form part of electoral division 2 (Auchtertool/Linktown/Invertiel) of Fife Region and ward 4 (Linktown/Auchtertool) of Kirkcaldy District. (2) Area B described in Part II of the Schedule to this Order (being the Area B transferred by article 4(2) of this Order) (a) shall cease to form part of electoral division 2 (Auchtertool/Linktown/Invertiel) of Fife Region and ward 4 (Linktown/Auchtertool) of Kirkcaldy District[5]; and (b) shall form part of electoral division 36 (Cowdenbeath/Gray Park) of Fife Region and ward 16 (Cowdenbeath South East) of Dunfermline District.
