The Education (Further Education Corporations) Order 1993

    Whereas it appears to the Secretary of State for Wales that the educational institution known as "Deeside College", being an institution maintained by Clwyd local education authority, is principally concerned with the provision of full-time education suitable to the requirements of persons over compulsory school age who have not attained the age of nineteen years, now therefore in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 16(2) and (5) and 17(2)(b) of the Further and Higher Education Act 1992[1], the Secretary of State for Wales hereby makes the following Order:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Education (Further Education Corporations) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 11th February 1993.
        2.    There shall be established a body corporate to be known as "Deeside College" for the purpose of conducting the educational institution known as "Deeside College".
        3.    The educational institution referred to in article 2 shall be conducted by the body corporate as from the operative date.
        4.    The "operative date" in relation to the further education corporation established in article 2 of this Order shall be 1st April 1993.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order establishes a body corporate to be known as "Deeside College" for the purpose of conducting the Deeside College from 1st April 1993. The College is at present maintained by Clwyd local education authority.
