The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No. 8) Regulations 1992

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 41(1), (2) and (5) of the Road Traffic Act 1988[1], and all other enabling powers, and after consultation with representative organisations in accordance to section 195(2) of that Act, hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) (No. 8) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 1st February 1993.
Preliminary
2. The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986[2] shall be further amended in accordance with the following provisions of these Regulations.
Amendments to regulation 39 (fuel tanks)
3. In regulation 39 (a) in paragraph (2), after "paragraphs (3)" there shall be inserted ", (3A)"; and
(b) after paragraph (3) there shall be inserted the following paragraph" (3A) Sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph 2(c) shall not have effect in relation to a two-wheeled motor cycle (with or without a side-car) first used on or after 1st February 1993."
Amendments to regulation 61 (exhaust emissions)
4. In regulation 61(10B), sub-paragraph (g) shall be omitted.
