The M1 Motorway (Junction 1 Improvement) Connecting Road Scheme 1992

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17 and 19 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and now vested in him[2], and of all other enabling powers: 1. This Scheme may be cited as the M1 Motorway (Junction 1 Improvement) Connecting Road Scheme 1992 and shall come into force on 7th May 1992. 2. The Secretary of State is authorised to provide a special road for the exclusive use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980 along a route connecting the northbound carriageway of the M1 Motorway with the westbound carriageway of the A406 North Circular Road from its junction with the existing M1 Motorway/Junction 1 roundabout, as proposed to be improved, for a distance of 0.60 kilometres. 3. The centre line of the new special road is indicated by a heavy black line on the plan contained in the plan folio numbered LRO 64/73/2/012 marked "The M1 Motorway (Junction 1 Improvement) Connecting Road Scheme 1992 ", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY. 4. The new special road shall become a trunk road on the date when this Scheme comes into force. Signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport
