The Local Government Reorganisation (Consequential Provision) Order 1991

    The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 101 of the Local Government Act 1985[1], and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Local Government Reorganisation (Consequential Provision) Order 1991 and shall come into force on 18th November 1991.
        2.    In section 83(1) of the West Yorkshire Act 1980[2] for "The county council may after consultation with the executive" there shall be substituted "The executive may".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order makes provision consequential on the Local Government Act 1985 which in particular abolished the metropolitan county councils on 1st April 1986.
    Article 2 transfers to the West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive the powers of the West Yorkshire County Council to make byelaws relating to premises belonging to or managed by the Executive for or in connection with bus services within their area.
