The Water Act 1989 (Commencement No. 5) (Scotland) Order 1991

Made	3rd May 1991

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 194(4) of the Water Act 1989^[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
    1.    This Order may be cited as the Water Act 1989 (Commencement No. 5) (Scotland) Order 1991.

Commencement of provisions on 31st May 1991
    2.    The following provisions of the Water Act 1989 shall come into force in Scotland on 31st May 1991:-
Schedule 23, paragraph 4, so far as relating to section 33 of the Control of Pollution Act 1974^[2], and section

169 so far as it gives effect to that paragraph of that Schedule in relation to the said section 33.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force on 31st May 1991 the provision in Schedule 23 to the Water Act 1989 which substitutes section 33 of the Control of Pollution Act 1974. Section 33, which now extends to Scotland only, deals with control of sanitary appliances on vessels.
