The Swine Fever (Amendment) Order 1991

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary ofState for Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly,in exercise of the powers conferred on them by sections 1, 15(4) and83(2) of the Animal Health Act 1981[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf,hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Swine Fever (Amendment) Order 1991and shall come into force on 12th May 1991.
2. In article 3 of the Swine Fever Order 1963[2] for paragraph (4) there shall be substituted thefollowing" (4) In this Article,"meat inspector" means any person who, as respects England and Wales, by virtue ofregulation 2(1) of the Meat Inspection Regulations 1987[3] is an inspector for the purposes of those Regulations,or as respects Scotland, by virtue of regulation 2(1) of the Food (MeatInspection) (Scotland) Regulations 1988[4] is an inspector or a meat inspector for the purposes ofthose Regulations."

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)This Order amends article 3(4) of the Swine Fever Order 1963 whichwas defectively amended by article 4(1) of the Food Safety Act 1990(Consequential Modifications) (No. 2) (Great Britain) Order 1990 (S.I.1990/2487). The amendment now made redefines"meat inspector".
