The Special Hospitals Service Authority (Functions and Membership)Amendment Regulations 1991

    The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of powers conferredby sections 13 and 18(1) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf,hereby makes the following Regulations:—
    Citation, commencement and interpretation
        1.—(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Special Hospitals ServiceAuthority (Functions and Membership) Amendment Regulations 1991 andshall come into force on 15th May 1991.

        (2)  In these Regulations,"the principal Regulations" means the Special Hospitals Service Authority (Functions andMembership) Regulations 1989[2].
    Amendment of regulation 2 of the principal Regulations
        2.    In regulation 2 of the principal Regulations (functions of theAuthority)[3]
    , after paragraph (4) there shall be added the followingparagraph—
      "  (5)  In exercise of the Secretary of State's functions specified inthe Schedule to these Regulations under section 25 of the Act, suchcharges shall be made with respect to the supplies of human blood as aredetermined by the Secretary of State.".
    Amendment of Schedule to the principal Regulations
        3.    In columns (1) and (2) of the Schedule to the principal Regulations(provisions of the National Health Service Act 1977 conferring functionsexercisable by the Authority)[4], in the appropriate places in the numerical order of the sections listed in column (1) of that Schedule there shall be inserted theentries listed in columns (1) and (2) respectively of the Schedule tothese Regulations.
