The Driving Licences (Community Driving Licence) (Amendment) Regulations 1991

The Secretary of State for Transport, being a Minister designated^[1] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972^[2] in relation to the licensing of drivers of motor vehicles, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

    1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Driving Licences (Community Driving Licence) (Amendment) Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on Ist April 1991.

    2.    Regulation 6 (Public service vehicle drivers' licences) of the Driving Licences (Community Driving Licence) Regulations 1982^[3] is hereby revoked; and section 2(3) of the Road Traffic (Driving Licences) Act 1983^[4] (which amends that regulation) shall cease to have effect.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations revoke regulation 6 (public service vehicle drivers' licences) of the Driving Licences (Community Driving Licence) Regulations 1982 because of the bringing into force of the repeal of sections 22 to 23A of the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981 (c. 14) in section 16 of, and Schedule 6 to, the Road Traffic (Driver Licensing and Information Systems) Act 1989 (c. 22) by the Road Traffic (Driver Licensing and Information Systems) Act 1989 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1990 (S.I. 1990/2610).
