The Valuation and Community Charge Tribunals (Amendment) (Allowances) Regulations 1991

    The Secretary of State for the Environment as respects England and the Secretary of State for Wales as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 146(6) of, and paragraphs 1 and 5(1)(p) of Schedule 11 to, the Local Government Finance Act 1988[1], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Valuation and Community Charge Tribunals (Amendment) (Allowances) Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on 7th March 1991 ("the operative date").
        2.    Each provision of Schedule 2 to the Valuation and Community Charge Tribunals Regulations 1989[2]mentioned in the Table below shall be amended in relation to approved duties (within the meaning of that Schedule) performed on or after the operative date by by substituting, for the amount mentioned in the second column of the Table ("the original amount"), the amount mentioned in the third column in relation to that provision, wherever in that provision the original amount is mentioned.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations increase the amounts of the financial loss allowance and overnight accommodation allowance prescribed in relation to the performance of approved duties by members of valuation and coomunity charge tribunals. The amount of subsistence allowance prescribed in respect of duties exceeding 8 hours but not 12 hours is also increased.
