The Broadcasting Act 1990 (Commencement Date for Complaints under Part V) Order 1990

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 143(2)(a) of the Broadcasting Act 1990[1], I hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Broadcasting Act 1990 (Commencement Date for Complaints under Part V) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 1st January 1991.
2. 1st January 1991 is hereby specified as the date for the purposes of section 143(2) of the Broadcasting Act 1990.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)This Order specifies 1st January 1991 as the date for the purposes of section 143(2) of the Broadcasting Act 1990. Under section 143, Part V of that Act (which concerns the Broadcasting Complaints Commission) applies to complaints about the television or sound programmes specified in section 143(2) which are broadcast on or after that date.
Under article 3 of, and Schedule 2 to, the Broadcasting Act 1990 (Commencement No. 1 and Transitional Provisions) Order 1990 (S.I. 1990/2347), section 143 comes into force on 1st January 1991 when this Order also comes into force.
