The Local Elections (Parishes and Communities)(Declaration of Acceptance of Office) Order 1990

Made6th December 1990
Coming into force1st January 1991

    The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 83(4) of the Local Government Act 1972[1], section 31(7) of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989[2] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (Declaration of Acceptance of Office) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 1st January 1991.
    Form of declaration of acceptance of office
        2.    The declaration of acceptance of office by the chairman or a councillor of a parish or community council shall be in the form in the Schedule to this Order, or a form to the like effect.
