The Local Government (Promotion of Economic Development) (Amendment) Regulations 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by section 33(3)(f) of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989[1], and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government (Promotion of Economic Development) (Amendment) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 1st April 1990. 2. Regulation 4 of the Local Government (Promotion of Economic Development) Regulations 1990[2] is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "less than". EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)These Regulations amend regulation 4 of the Local Government (Promotion of Economic Development) Regulations 1990 (S.I. 1990/763). The effect of that regulation as amended is that an authority will be regarded as providing financial assistance under section 33(3)(f) of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 if it provides property, services or other financial benefit for a consideration less than the best that can reasonably be obtained.
