The Education (Grant-maintained Schools) (Publication of Proposals) Regulations 1989

The Secretary of State for Education and Science, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 63(4), 89(1) and 92(2) of the Education Reform Act 1988[1], hereby make the following Regulations:
PART IGENERALCitation and commencement 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Grant-maintained Schools) (Publication of Proposals) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 1st September 1989. Interpretation 2. In these Regulations-"the Act" means the Education Reform Act 1988; and "grant-maintained school" means a school maintained by the Secretary of State and conducted by a governing body incorporated for that purpose under Chapter IV of Part I of the Act.
