REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE
The Representation of the People Act 1989 (Commencement No.1) Order 1989
In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 8(2) of the Representation of the People Act 1989[1], I hereby make the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Representation of the People Act 1989 (Commencement No.1) Order 1989.
2. The Representation of the People Act 1989, except sections 1 to 4, shall come into force on 1st September 1989.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)This Order brings into force on 1st September 1989 all of the provisions of the Representation of the People Act 1989, except sections 1 to 4.
