The Pensions (Miscellaneous Offices) (Preservation of Benefits) (Amendment) Order 1989

The Treasury, in exercise of powers conferred by sections 65 and 96 of the Social Security Act 1973[1] and now vested in them[2], hereby make the following Order:-
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Pensions (Miscellaneous Offices) (Preservation of Benefits) (Amendment) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 6th July 1989.
Interpretation
2. In this Order "the principal Order" means the Pensions (Miscellaneous Offices) (Preservation of Benefits) Order 1977[3].
Office-holder's pension: qualifying service
3. In article 5(1) of the principal Order there shall be substituted for the word "five" the word "two".
4. This Order shall have effect from 6th April 1988.
