The Education (Prescribed Public Examinations) Regulations 1989

    In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 106(4), (5), (6) and (7), 117, and 232(5) of the Education Reform Act 1988[1] the Secretary of State for Education and Science, as respects England, and the Secretary of State for Wales, as respects Wales, hereby make the following Regulations:
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Education (Prescribed Public Examinations) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 1st April 1989.
        2.    The public examinations for the qualifications specified in the Schedule to these Regulations are hereby prescribed for the purposes of sections 106(4), (5), (6) and (7) and 117 of the Education Reform Act 1988.
