The Banking Act 1987 (Exempt Persons) Order 1989

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 4(3) of the Banking Act 1987[1] and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, and after consultation with the Bank of England, hereby order as follows:
Citation and Commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Banking Act 1987 (Exempt Persons) Order 1989 and shall come into force on 1st April 1989.
2. Exemption
Schedule 2 to the Banking Act 1987 shall be amended by the addition of the following new entry after the entry numbered"14"- "14A. Crown Agents Financial Services Limited.".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)This Order adds Crown Agents Financial Services Limited to the list in Schedule 2 to the Banking Act 1987 of persons exempted from section 3 of that Act (restriction on acceptance of deposits).
