CHILDREN AND YOUNG PERSONS

The Children and Young Persons (Amendment) Act 1986 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1988

Made12th December 1988

    The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(1) of the Children and Young Persons (Amendment) Act 1986 [1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation and interpretation
        1.—(1)  This Order may be cited as the Children and Young Persons (Amendment) Act 1986 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1988.

        (2)  In this Order "the Act" means the Children and Young Persons (Amendment) Act 1986.
    Day specified for the coming into force of section 1 of the Act
        2.    Section 1 of the Act (Regulations as to accommodation of children in care) shall come into force on 1st June 1989.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order brings section 1 of the Children and Young Persons (Amendment) Act 1986 into force on 1st June 1989. Section 1 makes provision for regulations to be made as to the accommodation under the charge and control of a parent, guardian, relative or friend of children who are in the care of a local authority.



NOTE AS TO EARLIER COMMENCEMENT ORDERS

(This note is not part of the Order)

    Sections 2 and 3 of the Act were brought into force by the Children and Young Persons (Amendment) Act 1986 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1988 (S.I. 1988/1262) on 1st August 1988.
