The Local Statutory Provisions (Postponement of Repeal) (Scotland) Order 1988

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 225(6)(b) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 [1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Local Statutory Provisions (Postponement of Repeal) (Scotland) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 31st December 1988.
        2.    In this Order "the Act" means the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973. "local statutory provision" means any local Statutory provision to which section 225(6) of the Act applies.
        3.    The date on which all local statutory provisions applying to the whole or any part of the local government areas specified in the Schedule to this Order, so far as they apply, are to cease to have effect under section 225(6) of the Act is hereby postponed to 31st December 1989.
