The Social Security Act 1988 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1988

Made	26th October1988

The Secretary of State for Social Security, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18(3) of the Social Security Act 1988^[1], and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:

Citation
    1.    This Order may be cited as the Social Security Act 1988 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1988.

Appointed day
    2.    The day appointed for the coming into force of the provisions of the Social Security Act 1988 specified below is 10th April 1989—
 (a) section 2(1) and (2) (retirement allowance); and
 (b) Schedule 4, paragraph 11 to the extent that it is not already in force, and section 16(1) in so far as it relates to it.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides for the coming into force on 10th April 1989 of the following provisions of the Social Security Act 1988 relating to retirement allowance—
  section 2(1) and (2);
Schedule 4, paragraph 11 in so far as it is not already in force.
