The A102(M) Motorway (Eastway Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1988

Coming into force3rd November 1988

    The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Scheme in exercise of powers conferred by sections 16, 17 and 19 of the Highways Act 1980[1], and now vested in him[2], and of all other enabling powers:
        1.    The Secretary of State is authorised to provide, for the use of traffic of Classes I and II of the classes of traffic set out in Schedule 4 to the Highways Act 1980, special roads along the routes described in the Schedule to this Scheme (these roads being in the Scheme referred to as"the special roads") for the purpose of connecting the road to be provided by the Secretary of State in pursuance of article 1(a) of the A102(M) Motorway (Eastway Section) Scheme 1986[3] (this road being in this Scheme referred to as"the motorway") with other highways at the places stated in that schedule.
        2.    The centre line of each of the special roads is indicated by a heavy black line on the deposited plan.
        3.    The special roads shall become trunk roads on the date when this Scheme comes into force.
        4.    In this Scheme:—

    "the deposited plan" means the plan folio numbered HA 16/1EC/51 marked"The A102(M) Motorway (Eastway Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1988", signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
        5.    This Scheme shall come into force on 3rd November 1988, and may be cited as the A102(M) Motorway (Eastway Section) Connecting Roads Scheme 1988.
