The A406 London North Circular Trunk Road (Popes Lane (B4491) to Western Avenue (A40) Improvement, Detrunking) Order 1988

Coming into force

15th September1988

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred on him by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980^[1], and now vested in him^[2], and of all other enabling powers:

    1.    The length of the Trunk Road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Council of the London Borough of Ealing that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.

    2.    In this Order—

    (1)  all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway; and

(2)   (i)  "the deposited plan"	means the plan numbered GLRT 065/L27/36/T04/1—3 marked "The A406 London North Circular Trunk Road (Popes Lane (B4491) to Western Avenue (A40) Improvement, Detrunking) Order 1988" signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1 3PY;
(ii)  "the new trunk road"	means the trunk road to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the A406 London North Circular Trunk Road (Popes Lane (B4491) to Western Avenue (A40) Improvement, Trunk Road) Order 1988;
(iii)  "the Trunk Road"	means the A406 London North Circular Trunk Road.

    3.    This Order shall come into force on 15th September 1988 and may be cited as the A406 London North Circular Trunk Road (Popes Lane (B4491) to Western Avenue (A40) Improvement, Detrunking) Order 1988.
