The Reimbursement of Costs (Monetary Limit) Order 1988

    The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 53(1) of the Administration of Justice Act 1985[1] and with the concurrence of the Treasury, hereby makes the following Order—
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Reimbursement of Costs (Monetary Limit) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st October 1988.
        2.    The amount prescribed for the purposes of section 53 of the Administration of Justice Act 1985 (reimbursement of additional costs resulting from death or incapacity of presiding judge etc) is £8000.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order prescribes £8000 as the maximum amount which a party to proceedings may be reimbursed in respect of additional costs incurred as a result of the incapacity or death of a judge presiding at those proceedings.
