Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 109(d) of the National Health Service Act 1977[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Health Service Commissioner for Wales (Welsh Health Promotion Authority) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 22nd April 1988.
Designation as body subject to investigation
2. The Welsh Health Promotion Authority is hereby designated as an authority to which section 109 of the National Health Service Act 1977 (bodies subject to investigation by Health Service Commissioner) applies.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)This Order designates the Welsh Health Promotion Authority as a "relevant body" within the meaning of section 109 of the National Health Service Act 1977 so that the Health Service Commissioner for Wales may investigate complaints which relate to the Authority or its officers.
