The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by sections 7(2)(b) and 10(7) of the Antarctic Treaty Act 1967[1], is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows: 1.(1) This Order may be cited as the Antarctic Treaty (Specially Protected Areas) Order 1988.
(2) This Order shall come into force on 22nd April 1988.
2. For the purposes of the Antarctic Treaty Act 1967, the areas specified in the Schedule to this Order, being areas which have been recommended for inclusion in Annex B to Schedule 2 to the said Act, are designated as Specially Protected Areas. 3. The Schedule to the Antarctic Treaty (Specially Protected Areas) Order 1968[2] is amended by the deletion of the description and map of Specially Protected Area No. 7 (Cape Hallett, Victoria Land).
