The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

    Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by sections 2, 17 and 21 of the Extradition Act 1870[1] and sections 3(2) and 4(1) of the Internationally Protected Persons Act 1978[2], or otherwise in Her Majesty vested, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Extradition (Internationally Protected Persons) (Amendment) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 1st January 1988.
        2.    The Extradition (Internationally Protected Persons) Order 1979[3] shall be amended by adding to Schedule 2 (which names the foreign States with which the United Kingdom has extradition treaties in force and which are parties to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons, including Diplomatic Agents, signed at New York on 14th December 1973[4]) the following entry —

        3.    The Extradition (Internationally Protected Persons) Order 1979 shall be amended by adding to Part I of Schedule 3 (which names the foreign States with which the United Kingdom has no extradition treaties in force and which are parties to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons, including Diplomatic Agents, signed at New York on 14th December 1973) the following entries —

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order amends the Extradition (Internationally Protected Persons) Order 1979 (which among its provisions names States party to the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes against Internationally Protected Persons, including Diplomatic Agents, signed at New York on 14th December 1973) by adding the names of the States specified in articles 2 and 3 of this Order, which are also parties to the Convention.
