The Bus Companies (Dissolution) Order 1987

    The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 47(12) and (13) of the Transport Act 1985[1], and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Order:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    This Order may be cited as the Bus Companies (Dissolution) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 14th October 1987.
    Dissolution of companies
        2.    The Cheltenham District Traction Company, the Gosport and Fareham Omnibus Company and the Mansfield District Traction Company (which are all subsidiaries of the National Bus Company and all incorporated by local Act or by an order under the Light Railways Act 1896[2]) are hereby dissolved.
    Rights and Liabilities
        3.    All rights vested in and liabilities binding upon any of the companies named in article 2 of this Order, including (without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing) the obligation to provide services contained in the Gosport and Fareham Omnibus Services Act 1929[3], are hereby extinguished.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)
    This Order dissolves the Cheltenham District Traction Company, the Gosport and Fareham Omnibus Company and the Mansfield District Traction Company, which are all subsidiaries of the National Bus Company and all incorporated by local Act or by an order under the Light Railways Act 1896.
