DATA PROTECTION
The Data Protection (Subject Access) (Fees) Regulations 1987

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by sections 21(2) and 41 of the Data Protection Act 1984[1], I hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Data Protection (Subject Access) (Fees) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 11th November 1987.
2. The maximum fee payable by an individual on making a request under section 21 of the Data Protection Act 1984 to be supplied with information concerning any data held about him in accordance with subsection (1) of that section shall be £10 in respect of each request made by him.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)These Regulations prescribe a fee of £10 as the maximum fee which is payable by an individual who makes a request, under section 21 of the Data Protection Act 1984, to be supplied with information concerning any data held about him. When the data user has separate entries in the register for data held for different purposes, a separate request must be made and a separate fee paid by virtue of section 21(3) of the Act.
