The Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment No. 8) Order 1987

The Secretary of State, in exercise of powers conferred by section 1 of the Import, Export and Customs Powers (Defence) Act 1939[1] and now vested in him,[2] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: 1. This Order may be cited as the Export of Goods (Control) (Amendment No. 8) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 24th January 1987. 2. For paragraph (e) of article 4 of the Export of Goods (Control) Order 1985[3] there shall be substituted the following: "Cocoa
(e) cocoa beans, whole or broken, raw or roasted, and the following cocoa products namely cocoa paste (in bulk or block) whether or not defatted, cocoa butter (fat or oil) and unsweetened cocoa powder to any destination if there is produced to the proper officer of Customs and Excise at the place of export the appropriate certificate prescribed for this purpose by the economic and control rules of the International Cocoa Agreement 1986[4] which were adopted by the International Cocoa Council on 23rd January 1987".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order) This Order further amends the Export of Goods (Control) Order 1985 to take into account the International Cocoa Agreement 1986. Copies of the economic and control rules can be obtained from the International Cocoa Organisation, 22 Berners Street, London W1.
